Healthy Hair Habits to Adopt

Are you guilty of mistreating your hair? We’ve all been there! But fear not, breaking those bad habits is easier than you might think. Here are some quick tips to help you achieve healthy, sexy hair.

First up, brush your hair before you jump into the shower. This will help prevent tangles and ensure even product distribution. Plus, it reduces hair breakage and product waste - a double win!

Next, shampoo your hair twice. The first wash helps to break up any build-up on your scalp, while the second cleanses your hair and scalp. When shampooing, focus on your scalp and let the suds run through the lengths and ends. Be gentle with your hair, especially the ends, which are the oldest and most fragile. When it comes to conditioning, start with the mid-lengths and ends. These areas are the oldest and driest, and they don’t receive natural scalp oils like the roots. By conditioning just the ends, you’ll keep your hair soft and hydrated without weighing down your roots.

Hair masks are a must, and I highly recommend doing one once a week. My personal favorite is a dry hair mask in spray form that you can wear all day or even overnight. This allows your hair to have a spa day while you tackle other tasks. Your hair will thank you for the extra love!

Remember, what you eat affects the health of your hair and nails. If you don’t nourish your body, your hair will become brittle and lackluster. So, eat well and consider taking a multivitamin for optimal hair health.

Lastly, limit stress and get some restful sleep. Easier said than done, I know! But reducing stress can do wonders for your hair. Try sleeping on a silk pillowcase or wearing a silk bonnet or scrunchies to keep your hair detangled and moisturized while you snooze.

Breaking old habits can be challenging, but with these simple tips, you’ll be on the right track to healthier, sexier hair in no time. So, go ahead and show your hair some love!
