Remember that one time you went and saw your stylist you love so dearly and she parted your hair on the wrong side? You probably didn’t look like yourself and were slightly uncomfortable and corrected it to precisely where it is ‘supposed’ to go.
Changing your look can be fun, something as simple as changing your part can change your whole vibe! I have come up with a few trendy hairstyles that are simple and not too drastic of a change, but will definitely spice up your look!
To achieve the perfect finish for each of these hairstyles, it's recommended to pair them with the right hair product.
Slicked Back Pony
You can keep your part on this one or have no part at all. The key to getting this pony slicked back with no flyaways is either hairspray or a lightweight gel. There are two ways to achieve this pony, brush it back to the nape of your neck or up to the top of your head and secure it with a ponytail holder. THEN apply the hairspray or gel and brush it smooth to the pony. This is going to cause some pieces to stick up right next to the ponytail holder. Gently remove the ponytail holder and reapply it while making sure all the pieces that were sticking up are now in the ponytail holder. Voila! A slicked-back pony!

Loose Dutch Braids
A dutch braid is a braid that ‘pops up’ this means when you’re braiding, you’re crossing underneath as opposed to on top. (Crossing on top is a French braid). The key to making loose dutch braids is to make them normal, then ‘pancake’ them to make them big and pretty! To pancake is to pull up and out making the pieces flat, but fluffy, like pancakes.
For the loose dutch braids, a texture spray can add dimension and hold.
Messy Half Up-do
Don’t brush it, it will be too polished. Use your fingers to part your hair, rake through the section, and secure with a ponytail holder. A way to spice this up is to make it a half-up messy bun. To create a bun, separate the pony in two sections and create a twist, take the twist and wrap it around the ponytail holder, tucking the end into the holder. Give some of the pieces a slight tug to loosen them and make the bun larger & you’re ready!
The messy half-up can benefit from a volume spray to add lift and body.
Braided space buns
This playful style is perfect for festivals or any time you want to show off your adventurous side. Start by making two loose dutch braids, stopping about a third of the way down the length of your hair. Secure each braid with a ponytail holder, then twist the remaining hair into buns and secure them on top of your head.

Braided Pony
This can be a low pony or a high pony. Put your hair in a pony as you normally would and braid the tail. This can be a cute dutch braid, a bubble braid, a French braid, a fishtail braid, or a bubble braid flipped under! Really any braid you want will make this look spicy! You can add a fun bow or clip to the end of the braid to accessorize or use a scrunchie for the top.
